How to Write a Good EmailEmail is a very important way to communicate. Most people use it every day. When you write a good email, people read it and write back. When you write a bad email, people may not read it at all. An email has four parts: the subject line, the opening, the body and the closing. The subject line is the first thing people read. It is usually the most important part. It should be short, but it should tell the reader what the email is about. Some people just write “important,” but this does not give enough information. “Question About Future Classes” is a better subject line. The opening depends on who you are writing to. For a friend or someone you work with, you can write “Hello” or “Good morning.” In a formal email to a person you know by name, write “Dear” and the person’s family name, for example “Dear Mister Brown.” In the body, you say why you are writing. If the person does not know you, say who you are in the first lines. Put the most important information first. Keep your email short, clear and polite. The closing is usually one or two words, like “Best” or “Thank you.” After it, write your name, where you work and what you do. If you follow these ideas, you will get more answers to your emails.
