Malik's Story

My name is Malik. I am 39 years old. I am from Afghanistan.

My religion is different from the main religion in Afghanistan. For many years, people of my religion had a very hard life there. It was very hard for my family.

A few years ago there was a war. I was afraid. I left my family and went to Europe.

I walked a long way. Sometimes I had no food. Some of the people with me died on the way.

In Europe, some people from my country helped me. Then I started to learn the new language. It was hard, but I like learning new things.

First I worked in a restaurant. Now I am a teacher. I want to help other people.

One day I want to go back to Afghanistan. Many people there need help.
